If you buy a car from a private individual, you will have to pay a fee of 55.15 euros for cars and 27.57 euros for mopeds, as well as the transfer tax. The transfer tax varies between 2% and 8% in the Balearic Islands, depending on the power of the vehicle. Electric cars are exempt from the transfer tax.

If you buy the car from a company, you must pay value added tax instead of transfer tax.
