Our history

Anke Sevenster began her professional path in the insurance industry in 1988 as an exclusive insurance agent for the insurance company Mare Nostrum. During the first years, she combined her work as an insurance agent with various positions of high responsibility at Mare Nostrum, such as Commercial Team Director and Commercial Director of the Maresport Club (a division specialized in nautical insurances).

In 1991, AXA Insurances arrived to Spain through the absorption of the Majorcan insurance company Mare Nostrum, taking over its Tax Identification Number (Spanish CIF) and business address, which is still currently in Palma de Mallorca.

As a result of this change, in 1993, the AXA Agency Anke Sevenster as we know it today was born. Anke Sevenster and her daughter Helena Bennasar Sevenster opened the first official office in some small premises in the centre of Palma.

In 2001, we opened our second point of sale: our office in Santa Ponsa. This would not have been possible if the rest of the “Sevenster” family, Eva and Laura Bennasar Sevenster, hadn’t joined the AXA Agency Anke Sevenster team.

The managing team is now composed of Helena, Eva and Laura Bennasar Sevenster, who have successfully succeeded the founder Anke Sevenster.

Over these years, we have been able to improve and adapt to the changes undergone by society. We remember our beginnings, before Internet, email and even mobile phones existed. It was clear to us that our agency was going to focus on innovation, the search for excellence and providing all resources we could to offer our customers the best possible service.

Our commitment with our customers is firm and a core priority of our agency. That is why we provide all means and digital channels with in our reach in order to earn your trust.

In 2016, we opened our third office in the industrial estate of Son Noguera in Llucmajor with the goal of getting closer to our customers in the southeast of Majorca and again of improving the quality of our customer service.

We must of course also point out the importance of our current team of 13 professionals who enrich us and with whom we are lucky to share our values.

In this review of our history, we would like to make a special mention of all the people who have worked in our team in the past and who helped the AXA Agency Anke Sevenster become what it is today.

Our company presently enjoys the trust of over 8,000 customers on the island, with more than 13,000 current policies and premiums worth over 8,000,000 €.
